STANLEY Works was originally a company that manufactured hinges and other equipment for doors located in New Britain, Connecticut. Later, in 1857, Henry STANLEY founded the STANLEY Rule and Level company. In 1920, the STANLEY Rule and Level company merged with STANLEY Works and thus a new company was formed that would become the famous hand tools division.
Over the years, STANLEY Works has produced some of the most innovative and useful hand tools ever made. These hand tools include Bailey® Plane, Surform® shaper, PowerLock® Roulette and the latest STANLEY FatMax™ range of products. Today, more than ever, STANLEY continues to be the leader of innovation in the hand tool industry.
In 2010, Stanley merged with Black&Decker to form Stanley Black & Decker, to provide the tools and solutions needed by industrial companies, professionals and customers, they can count on these tools and tools to be successful when it really matters.
